Our Story

Hello! I am Tracey Metzger, owner and manager of the Damariscotta Lake Farm and I'm so glad you are here!

In the late 1950s when my mom was a teenager, her parents discovered a family camp on Damariscotta Lake that became a summer vacation spot for them and thier children. They would travel up from their home on Long Island, N.Y. on weekends each summer.

After enjoying many summers at the cabins on the Lake Farm Circle my grandfather signed on to be a co-owner of the Damariscotta Lake Farm in October 1970. I was 5 years old. I loved visiting with them and have sweet memories of walking the circle with my grandmother in the mornings.

The property since went out of the family, but my grandparents bought a cabin on the lake nearby and continued the tradition of coming to Jefferson. Every generation in our family since has fallen in love with mid-coast Maine, and now their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren gather by the lake in the summer.

In 2020, the Lake Farm had been empty for a couple of years and I dreamed of bringing it back to life. In October 2020 I was blessed to be able to purchase it - 50 years to the month after my grandfather had entered the business. It was a dream come true!

It is such a joy to be able to offer this space to families to enjoy and celebrate all the special events of life and the moments that matter most.

They created a beautiful, rustic yet classy, comfortable space that was the backdrop of one of the best days of my life. Having my wedding at DLF was the absolute best choice I could have made, and I couldn’t be more grateful to Tracey and her team for helping to give me a beautiful wedding day.

We had a multi-generational family gathering in this beautiful lakeside house. The pictures don't do it justice—it's an excellent place for groups, plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms, different areas inside for people to be on rainy days, a huge deck and yard for the sunny ones. We spent a lot of time in the lake and in the kayaks. People at the private beach were super nice, and overall, the whole place has a great vibe. We spent four nights here, and cooked all but one meal here. The place has everything you need and more. Tracey is super responsive, helpful, and kind. I wish we could all go back, like, tomorrow.

We had a wonderful time- great place to bring together a large group of family members. Nice proximity to many sites including Damariscotta, Wiscasset, Booth Bay, Brunswick and Rockland/Camden ( in addition to simply enjoying the lake)
