Our Story
Hello! I’m Tracey Metzger, the proud owner and manager of Damariscotta Lake Farm. I’m delighted to welcome you here!
Our family’s connection to this beautiful spot on Damariscotta Lake began in the late 1950s when my grandparents discovered a charming camp. They made it their summer retreat, traveling up from Long Island, NY, and creating cherished memories each year. By October 1970, my grandfather became a co-owner of the Damariscotta Lake Farm, and I was just five years old. I have fond memories of morning walks around the circle with my grandmother.
Although the property eventually left our family, my grandparents bought a nearby cabin and kept our tradition alive. Generation after generation, our family has fallen in love with mid-coast Maine. Today, their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren gather by the lake each summer.
In October 2020, exactly 50 years after my grandfather’s venture, I had the incredible opportunity to purchase the Lake Farm. Revitalizing it has been a dream come true, and I feel blessed to offer this serene space for families to celebrate life’s special moments.

We had a multi-generational family gathering in this beautiful lakeside house. The pictures don't do it justice—it's an excellent place for groups, plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms, different areas inside for people to be on rainy days, a huge deck and yard for the sunny ones. We spent a lot of time in the lake and in the kayaks. People at the private beach were super nice, and overall, the whole place has a great vibe. We spent four nights here, and cooked all but one meal here. The place has everything you need and more. Tracey is super responsive, helpful, and kind. I wish we could all go back, like, tomorrow.
We had a wonderful time- great place to bring together a large group of family members. Nice proximity to many sites including Damariscotta, Wiscasset, Booth Bay, Brunswick and Rockland/Camden ( in addition to simply enjoying the lake)
